A Midsummer Night's Dream: Bard Bites Edition

William Shakespeare's classic of fairies and lovers, royals and thespians - with a twist. The cast must brave increasingly hotter sauces while performing and manage to keep their cool. Oh, and one more thing - they've only got four rehearsals. Come join us for the face melting chaos.

AUDITIONS - Sunday, June 29th, timeslots 4pm - 8pm

Location: 5109 N 125th St, Butler


Auditions will be held in groups and consist of readings from the script. No memorization is required.

Rehearsals and performances will take place at Inspiration Studios in West Allis.


Rehearsals: July 21 - 24. Actors are expected to be available for all rehearsals.

Performances: July 25 - 27


AUDITION SIDES:


ROLES: (Note - Actors will be cast in more than one role. Auditions are open to actors of all races, body types, genders, and abilities.)


TITANIA: Queen of the fairies. She falls in love with an enchanted Nick Bottom by way of magic potion.

OBERON: King of the fairies. Titania's husband, attempts to steal his wife's young prince, a baby.

PUCK: Oberon's jester and right-hand man. A fairy who causes mischief for all of the characters and speaks directly to the audience.

PEASEBLOSSOM, MUSTARD SEED, COBWEB, MOTH: Fairies that serve Titania. They have their own brand of mischief.

LYSANDER: A young man of Athens, in love with Hermia. He desires to run away with Hermia despite her father's disapproval.

HERMIA: A young woman of Athens, in love with Lysander. She desires to run away with Lysander, though she is betrothed to Demetrius through her father.

DEMETRIUS: A young man of Athens, betrothed to Hermia. Formerly betrothed to Helena.

HELENA: A young woman of Athens, in love with Demetrius. Childhood friends with Hermia. Demetrius does not return her passion.

THESEUS: Duke of Athens, engaged to Hyppolyta.

HYPPOLITA: Queen of the Amazons, engaged to Thesius. Their marriage is a central event in the story.

EGEUS: Father of Hermia. He is demanding that his daughter marry Demetrius.

PHILOSTRATE: hesius' Master of Revels.

NICK BOTTOM: Weaver who plays Pyramus in the play celebrating Thesius' marriage. He falls victim to some mischievous magic and becomes part donkey.

QUINCE, STARVELING, FLUTE, SNUG, SNOUT: The other 'mechanicals' in the play celebrating Thesius' marriage, all with their own personalities and professions.


ABOUT HOT SAUCE:

While all actors will be participating in an amount of hot sauce each performance, each actor will have their own hot, hotter, and hottest sauces. If your tolerance is not incredibly high, have no fear!
