As You Like It: Bard Bites Edition
Directed by Kimberly Laberge
Romance, mistaken identities, and gender flipped on its head through Shakespeare's comedic classic - with a twist. The cast must brave increasingly hotter sauces while performing and manage to keep their cool. Oh, and one more thing - they've only got four rehearsals. Come join us for the face melting chaos.
AUDITIONS - Monday, June 15th, slots 6:30 - 9:30pm
Location: 5109 N 125th St, Butler
Auditions will be held in groups and consist of readings from the script. No memorization is required.
Rehearsals and performances will take place at Inspiration Studios in West Allis.
Rehearsals: June 22 - 25. Actors are expected to be available for all rehearsals.
Performances: June 26 - 28

ABOUT HOT SAUCE:
While all actors will be participating in an amount of hot sauce each performance, each actor will have their own hot, hotter, and hottest sauces. If your tolerance is not incredibly high, have no fear!
ROLES:
Note - Actors may be cast in more than one role. Auditions are open to actors of all races, body types, genders, and abilities. This is an unpaid opportunity.
Rosalind
The clever and independent daughter of the former Duke. After being banished, disguises herself as a young man named Ganymede. She uses it as an opportunity to test the loyalty of her beloved, Orlando.
Orlando
The headstrong and dramatic youngest son of a Sir Rowland de Boys. He spends his days in the forest composing terrible love poems for Rosalind, only to be roped into confusing psychosexual roleplay with a young man named Ganymede.
Celia
The dedicated cousin of Rosalind. Her affection for Rosalind knows no bounds, and she often seems jealous of attention Rosalind shows Orlando. Falls in love with Oliver for no goodly explained reason.
Oliver
The manipulative older brother of Orlando. When Orlando confronts him about his misappropriation of their father’s resources, Oliver plots to have Orlando murdered. Falls in love with Celia.
Phoebe
A local farmgirl who is pursued by Silvius. She falls madly in love with Ganymede, whose cruelty towards her only further arouses her affection. She eventually concedes to marry Silvius after being tricked by Rosalind.
Silvius
A simple farmboy who longs for Phoebe’s attention. His desparation for her approval results in him shepharding messages between Phoebe and Ganymede.
Touchstone
The former jester for the court who has abandoned his post to accompany Rosalind and Celia into the forest. He commits himself to marrying Audrey despite no real belief in the longevity of the relationship.
Jacques
A despondent lord whose cynicism towards life is rivalled only by his love for nature. He is respected for his clear intelligence but is often avoided due to being somewhat insufferable.
Corin
An aging farmhand who helps Rosalind and Celia upon their arrival to the forest. He spends the majority of his time dealing with Silvius’s unrequited pining for Phebe.
Amiens
Duke Senior’s most trusted lord and bard. He sings the majority of the songs in the show.
Adam
Orlando’s dedicated elderly servant. He accompanies Orlando on his journey despite being clearly too old.
Audrey
An uncultured and ribald country lass who becomes an object of obsession for Touchstone.
Duke Senior
The kindly former Duke and Rosalind’s father. He leads the band of outcast nobles within the forest.
Duke Frederick
The conniving and cruel current Duke. Brother to Duke Senior, it is his banishment of Rosalind that sets in motion the action of the play.
