ABOUT THE PLAY:
Set in current-day Chicago, “Hypotheticals,” is about a beautiful but misanthropic woman who kisses a stranger in an elevator on her way to psychotherapy. When the stranger turns out to be her new therapist, they’re forced into a professional relationship where the intimate environment is as fertile for romantic tension as it is for personal growth—until the revelation of a mutual secret threatens to bind them together or tear them apart. "Hypotheticals" shatters biases around Neurodiversity and has been well received at readings in Milwaukee, Waco, and Cincinnati, receiving its premiere full production here at Kith & Kin Theatre Collective.

When?
February 9th and 10th (6:30-9pm) with callbacks on February 11th.
Rehearsals are Monday - Thursday nights, starting March 4th.
Performs April 12th-14th and 19th-21st at Inspiration Studios.
Where?
Auditions and rehearsals at 5109 N 125th St, Butler.
Performs at Inspiration Studios in West Allis.
What to prepare?
Please prepare two contrasting contemporary monologues. Both together should not exceed three minutes.
What to bring?
A headshot and resume, if you have one. (If you do not have one, your photo will be taken at the audition. Do not let this prevent you from auditioning!)
ROLES:
Please note - All ages listed are the ages presented by the characters. All roles are open to actors of all races, body types, and abilities unless specifically noted. Character descriptions provided by the director.
All roles will be paid a $200 stipend.
Dr. James Brooks (Jamie)
40ish. Man, any race. Compassionate, intelligent, cautious. Intimacy note: This character has physical contact with Blaise, including embracing and lip to lip contact. This character has hand to face contact with Dr. Gwen.
Blaise McKay
30-40ish. Woman, any race. Determined, outspoken, charismatic. Intimacy note: This character has physical contact with Jamie, including embracing and lip to lip contact. This character wears moderately revealing clothing in a few scenes.
Dr. Gwen
50ish. Woman, any race. Confident, self-absorbed, sweet demeanor. Intimacy note: This character has hand to face contact with Jamie.
Arlo
Middle-aged. Any gender, any race. Irritable but internally empathetic.
Betty McKay
50-60ish. Woman, same race as Blaise. Hard-edged with the confidence of a privileged woman.
Eloise
A nurse. Any gender, race, or age. Insecure and compassionate.
Woman
To be doubled with another woman in the show.
