ABOUT THE PLAY:

A brand-new, contemporary play inspired by the women of William Shakespeare's works. Sisters, Portia, Imogen, and Celia, contend with who they have become and who they once dreamed they would be. This tight-knit ensemble explores the dynamics and individual struggles of the three women in their teens, thirties, and fifties as they each seek to build true friendships with one another and find peace between the lives they were handed, and those they have created for themselves.

Rehearsals are Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays in the evenings starting April 13th.

ROLES:

All roles in this play are written as women - we are open to any genders at auditions who are interested in being considered for these roles. Each role is played across a variety of ages, age listed is approximation of the center age for each role with an expectation that actors will play up and down in age as needed.

We are seeking actors ages 18+. All roles will be paid a $150 stipend.

PORTIA – 20s - 30s. The eldest sister, who slipped into a parental role for her sisters and has scarcely relinquished control since. Precise.

CELIA – 20s - 30s. The middle sister, a perpetual peacemaker who avoids confrontation at all costs and navigates a tumultuous home life. Kind.

IMOGEN – 20s - 30s. The youngest sister, with a penchant for adventure and little regard for her own mortality. Snarky.

AUNT ROZ – 50s - 60s. The sister to our trio's late mother. Always found with a drink in hand, a half-conceived joke, and a desire to turn a dollar into a million.

HERMIONE – 20s-30s. Portia's nanny and eventual lover. Unafraid to hold a mirror to the sisters' disfunction, but so near to the family that she becomes family herself.

REGAN – Late teens. Portia's daughter. Raised under strict home but retains her Aunt Imogen's wild streak.
