CHORAL AUDITION: Caesura

Kith & Kin Theatre Collective is assembling a small choral ensemble to sing a portion of Barber's Agnus Dei and Stephen Paulus's The Road Home as a featured role in the world premiere of Caesura by Tim Backes.

For auditions, musicians are asked to prepare the following:
- In The Road Home, prepare your preferred voicing part starting on page 5, measures 25-41
- In Agnus Dei, prepare your preferred voicing part (high soprano, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, and bass) of the Barber “Agnus Dei” AS DESCRIBED BELOW:
High soprano: pg. 2 ms. 8-14 (thru no. 1, include the soprano solo line) Text: “Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata/ Agnus Dei”
Soprano: pg. 2 ms. 8-13 Text: “Agnus Dei, Qui tollis peccata mundi” (stopping before the next “qui tollis”)
Alto: pg. 3 at no. 2 ms. 19-23 Text: “Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata”
Tenor: pg. 6 at the piano “molto espressivo” at ms. 35-downbeat of ms. 40 Text: “Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi”
Baritone: pg. 5 bottom after the breath mark, ms. 31-35 Text: “qui tollis peccata mundi”
Bass: pg. 10 second measure (64) until the end of the piece, please try to sing the lowest notes, thank you. Text: “Miserere, miserere”

Rehearsal/performance schedule is as follows:
6:30 - 9:30pm: September 19th, September 26th, September 28th
Tech week (at Resurrection Lutheran Church): October 6th - 9th, starting at 6:30pm
Performances: Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 2pm, October 10th - 19th
All choral singers cast will receive a $50 gas stipend.
